Whoopi Goldberg, who has ample experience with ghosts, seemingly had a paranormal experience during a recent episode of The View. As she was introducing the next topic of discussion, Goldberg was suddenly interrupted mid-sentence by an “echoey sound” that startled her, causing her to look up toward the rafters as the audience looked on in amusement.

Co-host Sara Haines joined in, joking, “God, is that you?” as Goldberg’s eyes darted from side to side as she attempted to process whatever just happened. Laughing, Goldberg then looked to the camera and told the crew to “Roll it back.” Just one day prior, the panel’s conversation — about hoes of all things — had also been interrupted by a mysterious noise, described by Entertainment Weekly as a “fairly sparkle.”

Earlier this month, another conversation, this time about abortion, was interrupted by a loud crashing sound; Goldberg joked that it was the sound of her “last egg” falling.

Fortunately, one of the show’s producers was kind enough to take to Twitter and explain what exactly is going on in the studio — and no, it isn’t phantoms. Producer Brian Teta tweeted, “For those wondering — ‘the echo’ at the start of the show was an issue with the audio board. Move along — nothing to see here!” which honestly sounds like exactly the kind of thing someone would say if they didn’t want people to suspect ghostly mischief.

One mysterious sound I can accept as a sound issue, maybe two, but three, one of which is a crashing sound (ghosts are known for knocking things over)? That’s suspicious, especially given Goldberg’s history of communicating with the deceased. Hijinks are afoot, I’m certain of it, and I believe this calls for a professional or two.
